Only an hour away from the large drupa exhibition in Germany, visitors were picked up twice a day by bus and brought to press manufacturer MPS’s new factory in Didam, the Netherlands. At the factory, which also serves as the MPS demo-center, visitors saw live demonstrations of an MPS EF flexo combination press, performing different kinds of jobs and material changes. Several jobs were executed with the materials chosen by the attendees on hand. With the convenience of Automated Print Control, the audience was able the see the ease of design change, as the job settings can be downloaded out of the systems’ Job Memory function.

During the demonstration, a presentation was given explaining the MPS press functionalities and technologies, which was observed live in practice on the running press. Different converting methods were shown and more information given on MPS’s brand new EXL Offset.

Guests were also given a factory tour, where they saw an EXL packaging press line. This press – with 11 print units – is one of the largest presses MPS has ever built. It is equipped with hot air dryers and can be used with water- and solvent-based inks. It also features auxiliary equipment like gravure units and an inline laminating station.
